All attempts of escape are gone as all you can do is hope and pray that someone would put you out of your misery as you become an egg for this eldricht horrorĪliens:there’s a queen in the middle of the hive that lays eggs all day…like a bug.Įven the characters would refer to them as bugs It would then forcibly turns you into an egg slowly but you would still be alive as your body mutates and twist slowly as you have full awareness of what’s happening. How are alien eggs made?Īlien: (it’s from a deleted scene I know but it explains what I mean perfectly)the creature would drag you into a dark corner. And after aliens we learned so much of the alien that it’s no longer “fear of the unknown of space or not knowing how to stop it” but more “fear running out of bullets before more show up”. The alien was no longer a terrifying abomination demon but instead is now seen as cannon fodder for the main protagonist to shoot at ever since then. They acted like bugs, they were treated like bugs, even the characters would refer to them as bugs. It was absolutely incredible in a horror point of view.Īnd in the movie “aliens” they were…bugs. It wasn’t just “big monster with large teeth” it had oddly weird and creepy sexual themes to the monster (it being born out of rape, the numerous phalic imagery both withs it’s design and the derelict ships design too) and had a weird eldrich abomination nature to it that added to the cosmic horror of it. It was seen as this nigh unstoppable force that no matter how much the main characters tried it would pick them from the shadows one by one. In the first movie “alien” the actual monster was actually terrifying. First of all I need to to say that I like the movie aliens quite a lot and it’s really well made, and I know this is highly opinionated so I understand a lot people won’t agree but I personally feel like that movie ruined the actual alien monster.
